At Revibe, we believe in creating a wellness experience that supports your body throughout all seasons and life's cycles. One question we often receive from our female clients is: "Can I use the sauna during my period?" The answer isn’t one-size-fits-all, but here are some important guidelines to help you decide what’s right for you.
The First Few Days: Listen to Your Body
During the first 1 to 3 days of menstruation, hormone levels such as estrogen and progesterone are at their lowest. This hormonal dip often comes with symptoms like fatigue, heavier bleeding, cramps, and low blood pressure. Adding heat during this time can amplify these effects, potentially leading to lightheadedness, dizziness, or increased bleeding.
Our Recommendation: If you’re experiencing heavy flow or feeling energetically low during your first few days, we advise resting and skipping your infrared sauna session. Your body is already going through a detox-like process, and it’s important to honor that.
When Infrared Sauna Can Help: Later in the Cycle
As your flow begins to lighten—typically after day 3—your body often feels more stable. This is when an infrared sauna can become a supportive ally. Many women report feeling relief from bloating and menstrual cramps, thanks to increased blood circulation and muscle relaxation. The deep heat can help soothe the lower back and abdominal discomfort while also calming the nervous system.
Benefits of Sauna After Day 3:
Eases muscle tension and cramping
Improves circulation and reduces water retention
Supports relaxation and emotional balance
Revibe’s Wellness Approach
Our philosophy is rooted in meeting you where you are. If you’re unsure whether an infrared sauna is right for you on a given day, simply check in with your body. Are you feeling strong, calm, and ready? Or are you craving rest and restoration? Both are valid, and both are welcome here. And remember—infrared sauna is not just a physical tool, but a ritual for self-awareness and mindful living. When used intentionally, it can support your cycle, your energy, and your overall well-being.
